Downtown Dubai, previously known as Downtown Burj Dubai, is a large-scale mixed-use complex under development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is the home of some of the city's most important landmarks including Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall[2], and Dubai Fountain. It covers an area of 2 square kilometres (0.77 sq mi), and estimated to cost US$20 billion (Dh73 billion) upon completion.

Burj Khalifa
The stunning centerpiece of Downtown Dubai is the Burj Dubai itself now known as Burj Khalifa. Officially inaugurated on January 4, 2010, the Burj Khalifa is the world's tallest building, and an incomparable feat of engineering. It represents not only the Emirate's capabilities, but reflects the intention of its leaders to transform the Dubai region into a global center of progress.

In addition to being the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa has two other distinctions. it is also the tallest structure, and the tallest free-standing structure. There are many other firsts in the world that Burj Khalifa has been awarded: highest number of stories, highest occupied floor and highest observation deck, to name a few.

Another visually stunning aspect of Downtown Dubai is found in the Dubai Fountain. An awesome spectacle of light, water and music, the Dubai Fountain spans over 900 feet and shoots more than 500 feet into the air. More than 6,600 lights, and 50 color projectors, create an evolving display that dances to a range of music, from contemporary to classical, Arabic to world music.

The Downtown Dubai also hosts The Address Hotels + Resorts, which redefine luxury. Targeting corporate, group and leisure travelers, The Address Hotels + Resorts offer every imaginable luxury to visitors and guests.

Downtown Dubai offers world-class business and financial leaders a unique, globally-oriented home in its Emaar Square. Consisting of six towers, Emaar Square has all the amenities: a drop-off area for important business associates, parking, courtyard caf's, water features and walkways.

In addition to the business and residential offerings, Downtown Dubai boasts The Dubai Mall, the largest shopping mall in the world.
